Welcome to the home page for the practice of Timothy M Lane, Ph.D., PLLC
Change is as much a certainty as death and taxes. A change for me, and thus my clients, is that I have been preparing for retirement, and it is finally here. This is a life transition that I have been working toward and my next adventure awaits. This does mean that I will no longer be active as a therapist here in Roanoke. I trust we will see what the future holds. I am closing my psychology practice in Roanoke by the end of May, 2024.
I have been unable to connect with most former clients whom I have not seen in the last four to six months but know I haven’t forgotten you and wish you the very best. For all my clients, if I can be of assistance with referrals, I would be happy to try.
Pursuing therapy takes courage, perseverance, and is not for the faint of heart, and it starts with finding a new therapist. Most of my clients will likely choose to pursue therapy with someone else, sooner or later. Finding a good client-therapist fit usually involves exploring their website and/or calling them with a few questions (e.g., experience with challenges you want to address, payment options, schedule, location).
If you elect to use insurance benefits, your insurance panel of psychologists and other mental health therapists are your “go to” source. If you choose to self-pay, your options are increased, as some providers are self-pay only. Some self-pay therapists do offer a sliding fee scale, so feel free to ask if needed.
Teletherapy has expanded options to work with therapists anywhere in your region. Most of those I will not know. Please be committed to the process of finding someone to work with, as it often takes multiple calls/inquiries to find compatible therapists with openings.
I have truly enjoyed work with my clients and know that each one has gifted me uniquely with their trust by sharing their concerns, lives, dreams and hard work toward their goals. It has been my honor to have worked with you.
May you live with peace, love, purpose, and meaning.
